Housatonic Racing Development, LLC is a privately-owned race car prep shop specializing in “Arrive and Drive” track support and race car rentals at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT. Founded in 2010, HRD has become a commanding competitor in the Northwest Connecticut racing scene with its drivers achieving numerous podium victories as well as becoming the undefeated Spec Miata Points Championship team 11 years in a row with the Lime Rock Drivers Club.

Jonathan “Jack” Scott founded Housatonic Racing Development in 2010 after successfully fulfilling a contract with The Skip Barber Racing School. While there, Scott gained success and recognition progressing from Mechanic to Crew Chief by displaying his vast knowledge of cars and great leadership skills among his peers. Armed with the information he learned at the famous racing school, he set forth a business plan to provide a similar service to those around his home town of Falls Village, Connecticut. Located just 4 miles from Lime Rock Park, a world-famous track circuit, Scott began to build a customer base by providing race car rentals and offering help to those in need in the paddock.

For many years Scott established his reputation among the local racing community by providing quality cars and on-site support to those he met along the way. In 2011, Scott embarked on building his business further by offering “Arrive and Drive” services to those who frequent the nearby track. “Arrive and Drive’ services cater to those who do not have personal storage space to house their race car and/or those that are not mechanically inclined to support it. Scott would store, maintain, and prepare client-owned race cars in his shop in Falls Village, until moving his operations to the larger facility at Grace Way in North Canaan, just 8 miles from the race track.

In 2018 Scott developed his company into a limited liability corporation, Housatonic Racing Development LLC. Shortly after, Ashley LaPlante joined HRD as the business manager in charge of bookkeeping and marketing. The two of them are known as the "Paddock Couple" of Lime Rock and together make HRD what it is today. Servicing 45 regular clients, many of whom are members of the Lime Rock Driver’s Club, HRD totaled over 400+ individual track day experiences last year. HRD drivers have earned many accolades including podium victories in Sports Car Club of America, LRDC Miata Races and overall Spec Miata Points Championships. HRD is now the most successful support team within the Lime Rock Driver’s Club producing more winners and supporting more cars than any other local race shop.

 What sets HRD aside from the other support shops in the area is the impeccable attention to detail, above and beyond support, and fun-filled atmosphere they cultivate in the paddock. While Jack is the main mechanic and handles all aspects of the cars, Ashley handles everything that pertains to the drivers. From track support to race gear laundering service, HRD offers the complete all-inclusive package for their race car drivers.
